Socks, or as Jon from Kitgrid likes to call them, "foot tubes", are what all the cool kids are doing these days. Later today Team Dream Bicycling Team (TDBT) will be launching a new website & estore. Amongst a whole slew of new spring offerings are one of my favorite staples, their Supreme Socks for $20USD.
The Team Dream Supreme Socks were an early addition to their always growing lineup of socks. Although they are available in 7 colors, they are by far the most subdued of the TDBT socks. Each is a simple one color sock with contrasting logos. The simple design features Chubby bobcats at the ankle and atop the toes along with "Team Dream" scripted on the instep. Sizes are pretty standard and the height hits on trend at about 6".
These aren't just pretty socks though. They do have some tech. The Team Dream Supreme Socks are made in the US by COOLMAX (a division of Invista) from a 200 stitch dyeable staple yarn. Staple yarns are categorized by shorter fibers usually made of natural materials. But when synthetic fibers such as polyester are cut to shorter staple lengths they have a softer and more natural tactile feel. The advantage is that synthetic fiber yarns provide greater performance benefits such as increased moisture wicking. I've been riding in these since they first launched and can attest that they are cool kids.

For me, my favourite and the defining feature of the Team Dream Supreme Socks has to be the mid foot compression. The highly elastic section through the mid foot keeps the sock locked on and gives your foot a good snug hug. I feel like the compression brings added comfort to longer rides and tired feet. The monochromatic design means they pair really well with the Mavic Cosmic Pro LTD - Paris Nice or whatever your kit tastes are. Go get yourself some foot tubes.
